What is terra meaning?

Terra means "earth" or "land" in Latin. The word is often used in scientific contexts, such as terraforming (the hypothetical process of altering a planet's environment to make it habitable), terrariums (enclosed habitats for plants and small animals), and terrestrial (referring to things that exist on land as opposed to in water or air). It can also be used more colloquially to refer to the planet Earth itself or the soil or ground beneath our feet.
